eBook - A Definitive Guide to Barbell Lifting

After many years of training - and becoming completely immersed in the gym, fitness, and lifting world - it became more and more apparent to me how little information there was out there for women who wanted to learn to lift heavy. I realised there was a need to guide women into this sometimes intimidating world.

With my years of in-person, and online, coaching, I realised there was a lack of information informing women of the incredible benefits lifting heavy can give you. Although I can teach 1:1 clients all they could ever need to know about how to start feeling confident and less self conscious in the weights room, I wanted to look at the bigger picture. I wanted to help the majority of women out there - women that I know want to be lifting, but are absolutely terrified at the prospect.

“Welcome to the barbell - The definitive guide to barbell lifting” was born.

This eBook is everything I have learnt throughout the years, condensed into one tidy place. It will cover every silly little thing you wouldn’t even realise you’d battle with; stuff you won’t think about until you’re in the middle of that weights room not knowing how the hell you’re going to move that bench, adjust that rack, or take those plates off the barbell. These are the bits that no one bothers to tell you.

Who is this for?

This is for all you women out there. This is for my fellow budding strong-ass women. This is for those who see other strong women and think ‘I wish I could do that’

This is for those who always feel put off by strength programmes because they look too intimidating or don’t makes sense, or you think they’re only for dudes. This is for those who want to feel powerful by learning how to move a barbell. This is for those who want to feel more confident in their own skin. This is for those women to learn that ‘strong’ isn’t just ‘sexy’ but downright empowering.’

This guide is for both the absolute newbie lifter, and the intermediate lifter. Where ever you are in your training, I can guarantee you'll learn something new from this guide.

So what is included in this ebook?

  • What I wish I knew when I started

  • Understanding equipment basics

  • Understanding programming principles

  • Video tutorials to the big three - Barbell squat, Bench press and Deadlift (both sumo and conventional), as well as the hip thrust.

  • 4-week beginner, and 6 week intermediate programmes, to develop your strength and confidence in the Squat, Bench press, Deadlift, and Hip thrust.

Why these movements?

Here at WTTB the big 3 are our passion. We also understand that a key barbell exercise these days - particularly for women - is the Hip Thrust. Almost every woman wants to include these in her training. So as far as we’re concerned, if you’re going to do them, we want to make sure you do them right. This way you can progress them well, and get hella strong at the same time.
